Standing Black Bear U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service
By A Mystery Man Writer
Description
On Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge, bears (Ursus americanus) are active. It's a good time to remind yourself to be careful when you drive the refuge both for your safety and for the wildlife too. You never know what will be in the road. When observing wildlife be sure and stay far enough away that wildlife doesn't pose a threat to you and that you don't alter their behavior.
