North West Is The Reason Kim Wore Braids To MTV Awards
By A Mystery Man Writer
Description
Kim Kardashian recently debuted Fulani braids on Instagram and called them “Bo Derek” braids. This is in reference to the iconic actress from the 1979 film “10.” The Internet was quick to remind Kim that Bo Derek didn’t create the hairstyle. Black women have rocked the braids since 3000 B.C. Tatyana tweeted, “Bo Derek did not come up with these braids. The problem is you guys don’t like to give credit where it’s due. Give the Fulani Tribe their credit, they’ve been wearing the style before Bo Derek was even born. You not gone keep taking whatever you want from us and think it’s ok.” Even Lindsay Lohan tossed in some shade, stating “I am confused” on Kim’s Instagram, to which she clapped back, saying “you know what’s confusing…your sudden foreign accent.” This is definitely not the first time the Kardashians have gotten flack for cultural appropriation. Between black face, Native American headpieces, headscarves and traditional black hairstyles, the family has stirred the pot on social media plenty of times.
