Combining legendary Leica optics and a full-frame sensor in a compact body, the original Q was a tremendous success. The third-generation Leica Q3 further refines the formula. It's built around an all-new 60-megapixel, backside-illuminated CMOS sensor offering 14 stops of dynamic range, which uses pixel-binning to output 36- and 18-megapixel images for faster operation and longer bursts. It's paired with a new Maestro IV processor with an 8GB buffer and a new hybrid autofocus system that blends contrast and phase detection to enable speedy eye, face, body, and animal tracking. Video recording also receives a boost, with 8K resolution, H.265, and Apple ProRes support. Thankfully unchanged is the outstanding Leica Summilux 28 mm f/1.7 ASPH lens, with an integrated macro mode. It's paired with a digital zoom feature that crops to focal lengths of 28, 35, 50, 75 mm, and 90 mm, expanding creative possibilities without carrying around extra glass. The OLED EVF receives a resolution boost to 5.76 MP with zero lag, as does the tiltable 3 display offering 1.84 million pixels — a 76% increase compared to the Q2. The new battery has 18% more power than the prior generation, and when paired with the wireless charging handgrip can recharge the camera without wires or an external charger, a first for a full-frame camera. Bluetooth and MIMO WiFi are on board, with the latter supporting 10x faster wireless transfer speeds, and four customizable FN buttons allow for easy one-thumb operation. Ports include HDMI for video recording and USB-C for charging and data transfer, and IP52-certified weather sealing protects against splashes and dirt. The Leica Q3 is handmade in Germany. Included in the box: • Camera Body • Leather carrying strap • Battery, battery charger, power cable • Leica FOTOS Cable • Lens hood, lens cap, accessory shoe cover • Instructions Specifications: • Dimensions: 5.12 x 3.16 x 3.65 • Weight: 1.64 lbs. • Sensor: CMOS sensor, 62.39 MP/60.3 MP (total/effective) • Processor: Leica Maestro series (Maestro IV) • Lens: Leica Summilux 28 f/1.7 ASPH., 11 lenses in 9 segments, 3 aspherical lens areas • Aperture Range: F1.7 to F16 in 1/3EV increments • ISO Range: ISO 50 to ISO 100000 • Exposure Compensation: ±3 EV in 1/3EV increments • Shutter Types: Mechanical central or optional electronic • Autofocus: Hybrid-AF with to combination of contrast metering, depth mapping, and phase comparison metering with AF metering points in the sensor
