If you just change colors as you would with your straight needles, you will be creating a "jog" where the stripes don't exactly match and look more like a spiral. Here is my favorite method to invisibly change colors when knitting in the round or, in other words, here is how to jogless change colors in circular knitting and get perfect stripes every time.
